A gripping, beautiful and dark story about a young woman's confrontation with her memories of a tangled and dramatic childhood, her sadness about her lost childhood, and the struggle to dare to move on.

"Svinalängorna" (Beyond) is based on the August Prize-winning novel with the same name written by Susanna Alakoski. Starring Noomi Rapace, in her first film after the successful trilogy based upon Stieg Larsson's trilogy, she also plays opposite her husband, actor Ola Rapace. Pernilla August is debuting as feature-film director and screen writer.
