National Child Abuse Prevention
Billboards Press Releases for 2018

FOR RELEASE ON March 14, 2018

Dale Hemming, Founder Sioux Falls Feminists

Sioux Falls Feminists
Would like to announce its Billboard Campaign to support the
National Child Abuse Prevention Month of April 2018

The 6 static and 12 digital billboards will go up on March 12th on South Minnesota Avenue. These billboards have very frank and explicit images of the ugliness of Child Abuse and wording which supports those images. Child Abuse is NOT PRETTY! Anyone who believes otherwise should visit a local Hospital Intensive Care Unit. Everyone needs to recognize how ugly it really is. That's why it's important that adults and children report abuse and not hide it. Why it's important to convince the children that the abuse is not their fault. Why they do not deserve what is being done to them. Why they should report their abuse. And Where they can get protection from more abuse. Sioux Falls Feminists recommends children first report their abuse to their school counselors. But the Sioux Falls Feminists website also has a list of 16 different professional organizations that also can take child abuse reports and can offer help and arrange to protect children.

The images and wording used in the National Child Abuse Awareness Month billboard campaign have been reviewed by national child abuse professional help organizations as well as by actual victims of child abuse. Some of the billboards have actual statements from child abuse victims. They all agreed that we must stop hiding the truth and ugliness of child abuse. Victims themselves have all expressed that they wished someone had spoken up so clearly back when they were being abused. Then they might have saved themselves years of guilt and misery living with their abuse. Years they can now never fully mentally or physically recover from.

Sexual predators, pedophiles, and those they have duped will attack these billboards. Why? They want to keep child sex abuse hidden. They don't want what they do to children to come out in the open. So don't be fooled by their claims that exposing child sex abuse only makes it worse. What exposing it does do is get some really ugly human beings into enforced therapy, or into prison, and it stops the abuse and gets the children out of the abusive environment.

Today, the Sioux Falls Feminists announced a bold new billboard campaign to support the National Child Abuse Prevention Month of April 2018. The billboards will highlight painful facts about the reality of child abuse including that:

  1. 97% of child sex abuse is by family members, relatives, or by other adults that children already know.
  2. Only 2.5% of child sex abuse is by strangers.
  3. There are over 7,000 children in Sioux Falls who are currently being sexually abused.

"Child Abuse is not pretty," said a spokesman for the Sioux Falls Feminists. "Anyone who believes otherwise should visit a local Hospital Intensive Care Unit.
