On June 20, 2009, during the protests against the presidential elections in Iran, Neda Agha-Soltan was shot and killed by a Basij member on a street in Tehran. Within hours, photos of her bloodstained face were held aloft by protesters in Iran and in hundreds of cities, making her an international symbol of her country's struggle. Narrated by Emmy-winning actress Shohreh Aghdashloo (Outstanding Supporting Actress, House of Saddam), For Neda tells the personal story of Neda and her tragic death, through exclusive interviews with her family, as well as previously unseen home video of her, including footage of the day she died. Examining how Neda's image became a powerful symbol of the larger Iranian struggle, For Neda is an extraordinary portrait of a brave young woman who risked her life for the cause of freedom.
